Lawton Place Manor House of Ty Cobb
Lawton Place offers the Southern Plantation Wedding on a budget!
Experience old southern charm that existed over 100 years ago. Lawton Place was built in 1875 by General Alexander Lawton of Savannah. In its day, the home was considered a summer retreat for the wealthy. Located in the small town of Mt. Airy, Georgia, 25 minutes north of Gainesville, Lawton Place is a step back in time. In addition to the historic manor of the home, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009 known as "Seventh Heaven House". The home offers eight fireplaces, original heart of pine flooring, and original plastered walls. The property also offers a guest house with hardwood floors, and an original claw foot soaking tub!
The house was purchased in March 2013 by Joshua and Christy Medley. It was a childhood dream of Christy's to one day own a home that would offer a place for brides to have the wedding they desire on a budget. When buying the home, Christy knew that one day she would get her chance, she just didn't realize that it would happen so soon. After speaking to the towns people and learning its history, she was ready to make her childhood dreams a reality.
