21st Annual Foxfire Mountaineer Festival

The Foxfire Museum and Heritage Center announces its 20th annual Foxfire Fall Heritage Festival, an event that will feature old-fashioned fun, food, crafts, and music.  Festival-goers will see over 75 exhibits and demonstrations such as pottery, cornshuck dolls, crocheted and knitted items, quilts, berry basket making, woodworking, broom-making, flint knapping, blacksmithing, folk art painting, nature & wildlife photography, hand-made jewelry, stained glass, and more.  Events on the field will include archery, pig chasing, log tossing, wood splitting, sack racing, three-legged racing, a shiner’s dash, and many more! At the end of the day at 5, there will also be a soap box/box car race!

Other features of the day will be a raffle of donated items by local and regional businesses and music by The Foxfire Boys, as well as many other bluegrass groups.  Good food will also be available until sold out. Admission: $5 per person, children age 5 and under are free, with a maximum admission of $25 per immediate family. All proceeds benefit Foxfire’s Local Educational Programs and the Foxfire Mountaineer Festival 2016.
